HANDWRITING
COLLECTION DATA

HOW DO WE
COLLECT HANDWRITING DATA?

Handwriting training data is more and more commonly used to train AI systems using Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Such systems are used to recognize handwriting in scanned documents, handwritten manuscripts or in mobile technologies (for instance, note taking on your mobile phone!). To recognize individual letters or phrases, the systems need to be provided with large datasets of different handwritings to learn how to cope with various styles, fonts, or letter sizes.

The data can be collected in virtually any language and from respondents of various characteristics. To collect large sets of handwritten data, we recruit respondents matching the screening criteria including different variables such as demographics or language. The respondents are asked to provide their handwriting samples using their own devices or invited to our premises all over the world for data collection sessions. Depending on the project requirements, the data are also validated, gathered in a database, or labelled.

Our previous experience in data collection allows us not only to offer the highest-quality of handwriting samples that we provide but also help you with our professional project management, international recruitment and reporting services.
